Dr Zoë Pirie
I've always been curious and particularly fascinated in people, which led me to study psychology at Sheffield University and complete a certificate in Counselling. Then a serious back injury in 1994 changed my life.
The positive outcome was that my chronic pain led me to Shiatsu and Chi Gong, which I started practicing simply for my own health and happiness. Shiatsu fell into my lap in 1994 - I attained my certificate to practice shiatsu in 1996 and have worked as a shiatsu practitioner and taught "Do-In" Chi Gong exercises ever since. I graduated from the 3 year diploma in shiatsu in 1997 with the British School of Shiatsu-Do (UK) and in 1999, passed the rigorous Shiatsu Society UK Assessment to achieve membership (MRSS). I attend regular CPD events including 4 years of the Shiatsu College's residential Post Graduate Diploma Course. I am very grateful to have studied and worked for over 25 years with a wide variety of inspirational Shiatsu teachers from various schools all over the world.
I also trained as a Reiki and Emotional Freedom Technique practitioner and while living for 11 years in Germany, became a Yoga Teacher for both children and adults. My Zen Yoga training in yoga with dynamic mindfulness emphasised meditation and Buddhism. My interest in mindfulness and Buddhism began in the 1990's and I've practiced meditation ever since. I'm qualified as a Mindful Meditation teacher and incorporate mindfulness into all of my treatments and courses. I am currently undertaking an in-depth teacher training so I can offer the wonderful Mindfulness Based Living Course (MBLC) and am a member of the Mindfulness Association.

I know I'm very lucky to find pleasure in my work. I find the people it connects me with fascinating and genuinely enjoy practicing, learning and working together. We can learn something from every single person we meet and believe that we should find out what that is before we move on.
My body reminds me to move and stretch every day to ease aches and pains and keep well and positive. I try to remember to practice mindfulness in daily life, also making time for regular formal meditation and know this is not always easy! However, the benefits of mindful movement and calm stillness keep motivating me to carry on. I love the countryside, fell walking, sunshine, nature, reading, music, dancing, laughing, singing, food, dark chocolate, Champagne and G &T!
I hope to meet you or see you again soon,
I grew up in what was then known as East Germany and was 16 years old when the wall came down. I qualified as a chef in 1990 and have since trained in catering with whole foods. As soon as I could, I joined my love of travelling with my job as a chef and have worked in catering, usually for large scale events, all over the world. I have particular interest in special diets such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, low sugar, carbs etc.
I always thought we should get all of our essential nutrients from our food and never took vitamins. In recent years, however, and through lots of research, I have become increasingly aware that the soil quality in our land and cleanliness of our waters have disintegrated. Mass production and long distant transport of goods further reduces their potential to provide the nutrition we need. I therefore set about finding the best supplements available that we could test ourselves and have been surprised and impressed with the many health benefits my family and I have noticed. I offer advice about these supplements and run guided detoxes and metabolic resets to many customers in both England and Germany.
I am passionate about helping people improve their health through their diet, recommending cooking techniques, healthy recipes, regular detoxes and high quality supplements etc. I am really enjoying working more often in small groups and 1-2-1 with our customers.
